2009-10 Choir Rosters Announced (5/09)

Langley Choirs Capture "Gold" at Heritage Festival Orlando! (3/28/09)
The Langley Choirs had yet another phenomenal Spring Trip! Perfect 80-90 degree weather with no rain; rollercoasters, rides, and shows at Disney's Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Universal; fireworks; fantastic performances by all the choirs; and an awards ceremony at Wet 'N Wild where our kids and Dr. Lambert earned top awards!
To summarize the awards that our choirs brought home:
Choral Sweepstakes Award (Awarded to the school having the two highest scoring choirs in the competition) Langley High School
Adjudicator Award (Awarded to a choir that earned an average score of 95 or above) Madrigals Concert Choir

District XII Choral Festival (3/20-21/09)
Congratulations to all the Langley choirs for their wonderful performances at District XII Choral Festival. Every choir received overall I (superior) ratings from each of the three judges on very challenging literature and in sight reading! Way to go choirs!
All-State Chorus (2/13/09)
Please congratulate the following juniors and seniors who were chosen by audition for All-State C horus. Of the 24 delegates chosen from our District, 10 are Langley students, plus 3 alternates! VMEA District XII Honors Chorus (10/30/08)
On Saturday, October 25, choral students from District XII's 14 high schools auditioned for District Honors Chorus, and 57 choir students from Langley were selected to participate, along with 4 alternates! The District XII Honors Chorus will perform February 14 at Marshall High School. Juniors and Seniors selected for the Honors Chorus are eligible to audition for the All-Virginia (All-State) Chorus. Congratulations to all!
VMEA Honors Choir (10/5/08)
On Saturday, October 4th, five hundred sixty-two seniors from across the State of Virginia auditioned for the Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) Honors Choir; only one hundred thirty-two are chosen, and seven of those are our students, six of whom placed fourth or higher within their sections! Congratulations to the following seniors:
Sara Rainey (Soprano II), 1st place Devon Mercer (Alto I), 4th place Caroline Anderson (Alto II), 1st place Lauren Bailey (Alto II), 3rd place Sean Fischer (Tenor II), 1st place Erik Matson (Bass I), 4th place Robert Higgins (Bass II)
This year's Honors Choir will perform at the VMEA Annual Convention, November 20-22, 2008, at The Homestead, in Hot Springs, Virginia.
