Lori Taylor

Lori Taylor has accompanied choirs since she was in the seventh grade. She is primarily self-taught, but she does have some training in Music Education at Tennessee Technological University; she completed her B.S and went on to pursue her Master’s in Counselor Education, then moved to Northern Virginia shortly before completing her degree program. Since then, she has accompanied in just about every venue imaginable, from preschool pageants to Capitol Hill parties and in every style from classical to progressive rock.

In addition to accompanying the choirs here at Langley, she presently accompanies for six Loudoun County schools, two voice studios, her church, a professional men’s group, and does varied freelance work such as weddings, funerals, studio recording, and recitals.

“I feel blessed to have a job that doesn’t feel like work; I love what I do. I love to accompany more than any other kind of performing because I prefer having a support role, and I enjoy the interaction between soloist or choir and accompanist. I am especially privileged to be here at Langley because not only do I have the opportunity to work under the inimitable leadership of Dr. Lambert, I get to interact with the students and see their musical and personal growth throughout the year.”
