CHOIR NEWS
TUESDAY, JUNE 10th:
6:00-8:00 PM - Choral Awards Picnic, LHS Courtyard. Enjoy a potluck dinner followed by our Choral Awards Ceremony in the LHS Cafeteria. Dr. Lambert presents a number of traditional recognitions, including Varsity Letters and Bars to students who have met the requirements for these honors. It's a fun way for choral students (and their parents) to wrap up the year! The following food requests for the picnic are based on students' last names: A-E: Chips of some kind F-K: Desserts L-Z: Salads/vegetables
Hotdogs, hamburgers, and drinks will be provided.
8:00-8:45 PM - 2008-09 Women's Chamber Choir and Chamber Choir Parents Meeting, LHS Choir Room. Immediately following the Choral Awards Picnic, there will be a short meeting of next year's Chamber Choir members and their parents. Dr. Lambert will talk about the Choir's general performance schedule (home basketball games, the annual Madrigal Feaste, and some extra performances throughout the year); we will discuss Chamber sweatshirts and yard signs and explain the role of "Chamber Parents"; we will update contact information for next year's Choir Directory; and we will be hearing from Cristi Goldberg, our extraordinary costumer, about costume needs for next year's Madrigal Feaste. We will also be hearing from our returning Chamber members about the Chamber Choir experience. The meeting will be a great time to ask questions, as well as a great opportunity for Chamber families to meet one another before the beginning of next year.

SPRING SHOW DVDs - You may still order a DVD of the Spring Show. Please print out an order form (available by clicking here or by clicking on the link on the homepage of the website) and mail it with your payment to TransVideo Productions, 919 N. Kenmore Street, Arlington, VA 22201. The cost is $20 and includes tax and mailing. DVDs will be mailed to you in approximately three weeks. SPRING TRIP DVDs - Italy DVDs are still available to purchase, but you must do so directly from TransVideo Productions. Please click here for the order form (or go to the link on our website's homepage) and mail the form with your payment to TransVideo Productions, 919 N. Kenmore Street, Arlington, VA 22201. The cost is $10 each, payable in cash, check made payable to TransVideo Productions, or by VISA/MC. Your order will be mailed to you.
CHORAL GUILD UNIFORM RESALE REMINDER - The Uniform Resale returns! Each year, the Choral Guild solicits donations of outgrown or no-longer-needed choral gowns and tuxedos for a fundraising resale. All resale outfits have a set cost, typically $25, and the proceeds of the sale benefit the Guild. The resale takes place in the fall before orders for new outfits must be submitted, giving students a chance to take advantage of purchasing a used outfit instead of a new one. If interested in donating your uniform, dry-cleaned choral dresses and tuxedos can be dropped off in the Choir Room any time before the last day of school. All outfits collected will be held over the summer for resale in the fall. (Note, non-graduating Madrigals and Women's Chamber Choir members will need their uniforms for their performance at the LHS graduation ceremony on June 12th.)
2008-09 CHORAL GUILD BOARD - Thank you to all who have come forward to volunteer as coordinators next year! We are still in need of another Concert Choir parent, as well as someone to coordinate decorating the stage for concerts (this could be shared by a few parents too), and while Erik Hoftun has stepped forward to as a photographer for our concerts (thanks, Erik!), Erik indicated it would be helpful for another parent to share the responsibility with him in case of scheduling conflicts.
